The Naked Truth Project: Volume II

Survivorship Reimagined. A Campaign Showcasing the Stories and Images of Women of Color Impacted by Breast Cancer.

"Representation is powerful—when Women of Color see images of themselves in breast cancer awareness, it validates their experiences, fosters a sense of belonging, and encourages early detection. Historically overlooked in medical narratives, our stories matter. Seeing ourselves reflected in advocacy, research, and survivorship helps combat disparities, destigmatizes conversations around health, and empowers others to seek care."

Five years ago, we created The Naked Truth Project to show the breast cancer community the representation we deserved. Today, we continue that legacy. Born from the vibrant energy of Breast Cancer BaddieCon: Survivorship Reimagined, Volume II is a powerful collection of images and stories from women of color who are redefining what it means to live—and thrive—despite breast cancer. This campaign is a beautiful and authentic look at our bodies, our scars, and our incredible spirit, shared by us, for us.

The Stories We Once Searched For.

For years, the story of breast cancer has largely been told without us in it. When our CoFounder, Marissa Thomas, like so many others, was diagnosed with breast cancer, she turned to Google, hoping to find images and stories of women who looked like her. What they found was a void. That gap became the driving force behind For the Breast of Us and our first Naked Truth Project.

This campaign was born from that same need. It is our continued mission to be the women we once searched for, to fill the internet with powerful, unapologetic images of women of color embracing their bodies after breast cancer. Each photo and every story is a testament to the truth that every journey is valid, every body is beautiful, and no one should feel alone in their experience.

"I hope people see freedom in the Naked Truth. I hope Black and Brown Women recognize that their stories and bodies are worthy of being seen and celebrated. I want Women of Color, especially, to know that they are not invisible, that they deserve to see themselves represented. The Naked Truth is not just about survival; it’s about thriving in authenticity."
