If I had sought out support, I would have been better informed about my options, about what to ask the oncologist, about what would help me during treatment. I wouldn’t have felt so ignorant. I wouldn’t have been alone with this new normal.
I believe that there has to be an energetic change at a fundamental level or our bodies will find their way back to the same loop that created the cancer to begin with.
Living flat wasn’t a choice I thought about when I was diagnosed with cancer. Now I know that it wasn’t only a choice, but it was the right choice for me.
There is a level of comfort and familiarity to having a doctor who can not only speak your language but understands your culture.
If cancer has taught me anything, it is that life is too damn short to cower to my fears.
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and then found out I had a gene that made me susceptible to breast cancer as well. I could wait and see or I could prevent a worst-case scenario.
