All of my days weren’t the best and when they weren’t, I said it!

Too often there ends up being a racial disparity which creates a cycle – we don’t see other Hispanics, African Americans, or any other people of color involved, so we don’t participate. We end up losing out on programs because there aren’t enough of us willing to be the first and break that barrier.

….living with a life-threatening illness, makes me focus more on how I’m spending my time and energy. Life is short, and not to be wasted.

SEVEN medical professionals told me to terminate my pregnancy. WE refused.

It was after I started chemotherapy, that I was at home one day healing from the treatment and I realized I was thankful.

Even on days when I didn’t feel like fighting, I have to because I had my son to live for.

“Be strong.” That’s what they tell you, that’s what you tell yourself and that’s what you think you must do to beat cancer.

Breast cancer helped me to really understand why flight attendants tell you to put your oxygen mask on first before you help anyone else.

So, here I am, two years out since getting the all clear, and now I’m faced with one more hurdle… total hysterectomy.
