Instead of allowing cancer to defeat me, I have learned everything I can be and can do in-spite of.
No, I am not the woman I was before, but the woman I am today shines the way God always intended for me to shine. And I am not sad at all that part of me had to die, so a greater me could emerge.
I’ve learned through all of this I’m a lot stronger and resilient than I ever thought I could be.
I approached breast cancer like any other to-do; something “I” can handle.
“Surviving” breast cancer two times. “N’ Shit” the anxiety, daily aches and pains from my medication, running the non-profit, working full time, being a wife, mom…and still trying to live my best life.
We focus so much on surviving cancer that the folks living with cancer are often left behind.
