Baddie Holiday Favorites: Bridget’s Banana Pudding

This banana pudding recipe is a go-to holiday dessert because it is a fresh take on my favorite childhood dessert. It brings back so many memories.  The chessman cookies gives it a lasting and desirable crunch that you just cannot get enough of, instead of the usual vanilla wafers that are used.

Serves 6-8

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (12-oz) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 (8-oz) package of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 cups milk (for pudding mix)
  • 1 (5-oz) French Vanilla or Banana Jell-O Pudding Mix (prepared on
  • 6 to 8 bananas, sliced
  • 2 packages of Pepperidge Farm Chessmen Cookies
  • 2 packages of Pepperidge Farm Chessmen Minis (optional for garnish)

DIRECTIONS

  • Line the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish with cookies and layer bananas on top. Alternate layering cookies and bananas until you reach the top of the dish. Make sure to finish with a cookie layer. Set aside to prepare the topping mixture.
  • Prepare the pudding mix according to the directions on the box.
  • Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and whipped topping using an electric mixer to smooth out the cream cheese mixture.
  • Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended.
  • Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and garnish with the Chessman Minis if you desire. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
