Finding peace when life is out of control
Adjusting when it feels like all is taken from you. From being in control to finding peace.
Our mission is to empower women of color affected by breast cancer to make the rest of their lives the best of their lives through education, advocacy and community.
Adjusting when it feels like all is taken from you. From being in control to finding peace.
The calmness of the water reminds me everything will be ok. And the mountains remind me that while I’ve overcome a huge challenge in 2020, there are more challenges to come. Challenges that will grow me. Challenges that will make me stronger.
And after three years in therapy and three “one-more chances,” the foundation of my marriage crumbled. But even so, God gave me beauty for ashes.
Cancer, better known as the Big C, is a negative word altogether, however, I always try to find the positive in every negative situation.
Feelings are like footwear, you can decide on a daily basis which ones you choose to wear. You wouldn’t choose something wack to style yourself in so why would you choose negative self talk about your body? Choose to love your body, it loved you enough to keep you here.
It’s ok to be truthful about how you feel.
These are MY terms of being at peace living with Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC). Being diagnosed with Stage IV MBC at the age of 31 was not my form of peace, but I live and exist in purpose.
After lots of grounding and affirming, I had to fix my crown and remember who I am and whose I am!
We all have scars whether physical, mental, or emotional. These scars can make us or break us. It is our responsibility to find the beauty of life and survival in our scars to help us transform and grow.
All of the losses I already endured throughout my life prepared me for what I had to face.
Your voice, your story, and your support can make a difference. Join For the Breast of Us in our mission to empower, support, and advocate for women of color across the globe. Together, we can create a future where every woman has the resources and support she needs to overcome breast cancer.
